Super Visa

Super Visa for Canada

The Super Visa is a multiple-entry visa that allows parents and grandparents to visit Canada for longer stays compared to a regular visitor visa. It offers flexibility and convenience for families who want to spend quality time together.

Super Visa holders may stay in Canada for up to five years during each visit, and the visa itself can remain valid for up to ten years, allowing multiple entries during its validity period.

This program provides families with the opportunity to strengthen relationships while experiencing Canada’s welcoming culture and beautiful landscapes.

It also allows eligible family members to reunite and spend meaningful time together, fostering emotional support and stability. By living together in a diverse and inclusive environment, families can create lasting memories while exploring new opportunities and building a future in Canada.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for a Canada Super Visa, applicants must meet several requirements set by the Canadian government.

Relationship Requirement

The applicant must be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Invitation from Family in Canada

Applicants must receive a written invitation letter from their child or grandchild living in Canada. The letter should include details about the planned visit and a commitment to provide financial support during the stay.

Financial Support Requirement

The child or grandchild in Canada must demonstrate that they meet the minimum income requirement necessary to support the visiting parent or grandparent.

Medical Insurance Requirement

Applicants must obtain private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company. The policy must typically provide at least one year of coverage and include health care, hospitalization, and repatriation coverage.

Immigration Admissibility

Applicants must also meet Canada’s general admissibility requirements, including having no serious criminal record and completing a medical examination if required.

Required Documents

Applicants applying for a Canada Super Visa are generally required to submit the following documents:

  • Valid passport
  • Completed visa application forms
  • Passport-size photographs meeting Canadian visa specifications

Important Note

The Super Visa is specifically designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents. While it provides longer stay durations than a standard visitor visa, applicants must still meet all immigration and admissibility requirements. Policies and requirements may change, so applicants should always review the most current guidelines before submitting their application.
